This simple concoction will keep mosquitoes away from you, and it smells like heaven. You couldn’t even think of using these products to protect yourself.

Our mason jar candle repellent combines essential oils, fresh herbs, and citruses. That’s pretty much everything you need. The good thing is that mosquitoes hate each and every ingredient. Keep reading and turn your home into a mosquito-free mansion.

Mason jar luminaries

You will need:

  • 4 Mason jars (use jam jars or any other glass jar that fits this purpose)
  • Essential oils (There are endless combinations, but experts always use lemon, eucalyptus, thyme, thieves geranium, lavender, catnip, citronella, cedarwood and basil. Try combining cedarwood, lavender, lemon, eucalyptus and thieves, as this mighty combo will punch mosquitoes right in the face. Do they have a face? Regardless of your choice, make sure you use 10 drops of each oil for every jar)
  • 2 lemons
  • 2 limes
  • 8 rosemary springs
  • Water
  • Floating tea light candles

Let’s put everything together!

Line up your jars, and start adding the supplies. In this way you won’t lose too much time prepping and putting everything together.

Slice your citruses, and set them aside. You may only use one fruit, depending on its size.

Add two rosemary springs in each mason jar, and pour in some water. Fill about three quarters of the jar.

Add 10 drops of essential oils in each jar, and swirl carefully.

Add a couple of lemon/lime slices in the jar, and add more water if necessary.

Add your tea light candles, and light them for instant effect.

Watch mosquitoes go away in a minute.
